Try it free first: Hitfeel Kit Lite has hit stop, camera shake and flash.
Make every hit land. Hitfeel Kit is a drop-in game feel toolkit for Godot 4 that is 100 percent code: no sprites, no audio, no textures, nothing to import. One autoload, eight ready-made profiles, and every component also works on its own if you dislike autoloads.
Hitfeel.hit(enemy, preload("res://addons/hitfeel/profiles/heavy.tres"), hit_point, 120)
One line fires the whole stack for that profile.
What is inside
- Hit stop with stacking (longest wins, lowest scale wins), restores
Engine.time_scaleexactly, keeps working while the tree is paused. - Slow-motion dip with easing, combined safely with hit stop.
- Camera shake (Camera2D and Camera3D) using a noise-driven trauma-squared model with offset and roll; decays on its own and puts the camera back exactly.
- Flash: shader flash for 2D nodes, material-overlay flash for 3D meshes; restores your original material.
- Squash and stretch for Node2D and Node3D, knockback nudge with spring return.
- Floating damage numbers: pooled (max 64), crit pop, 1.2k / 3.4M formatting, stacking offset so numbers do not overlap, 2D and 3D.
- Procedural impact bursts built from CPU particles in code, so they work in every renderer.
- 8 profiles: light, medium, heavy, crit, block, parry, heal, explosion. Edit them in the inspector or make your own
HitfeelProfileresource. - Reduced motion accessibility flag that turns off shake, flash and knockback and halves squash.
- A 2D demo (three dummy enemies, one button per profile, a switch for every component, intensity slider, live time-scale readout) and a 3D demo (click the boxes).
- Typed GDScript with doc comments, so the built-in Godot help documents the API. A headless test script is included.
Quick start
- Copy
addons/hitfeelinto your project and enable the plugin. - Add a
HitfeelShakenode under your camera. - Call
Hitfeel.hit(...).

Honest testing note
Built and tested on Godot 4.7 stable (Linux). A headless test script with 53 checks passes: time scale restores after hit stop (including overlapping calls, pause and slow-mo), shake returns the camera to zero, the text pool never exceeds 64 labels, an empty profile does nothing, reduced motion disables shake and flash. The 2D and 3D demos were rendered with the GL Compatibility renderer (software OpenGL) and the screenshots on this page are real captures.
Not tested: Forward+ and Mobile renderers, web export, Android/iOS, Windows/macOS, other Godot versions, audio behaviour, multiplayer, and your own physics and animation setup. Whether it feels right for your game is something only playing can tell, so tune the profile values to taste. It is a toolkit of effects, not a combat system.

Works great with: Screen Transitions and Settings & Menu Kit. See also the Godot Juice and Polish Bundle.
